In Bangladesh, the cost of ruining a life can run as low as forty cents. With the same ease one might purchase a cup of coffee, a a scorned lover, jealous friend or dejected business partner can impulsively throw a handful of acid that leaves the victim permanently disfigured and discriminated against.
