Earth's Most Common Language Is Smelled, Not Heard Or Read
Terpenes, chemical compounds that convey information within and across species, are produced by most organisms. Potentially, we could start issuing commands with terpenes that would replace our need for pesticides — if we ever figure out how to spell with smells.
